Half-Life 2 Beta Materials

As is traditional in developing a game, many of the textures and assets created for Half-Life 2 by Valve went unused and did not ship with the final game. Copies of these missing assets can be found in the files for the 2003 Half-Life 2 leak. These are still fully functional when copied over to the final game, and they're the same quality as the assets that did ship. As a result, they fit perfectly into custom maps.
This download features the textures found in the 2003 leak's files, sorted and ready for general use. No textures from the final game appear in this download; duplicates have been sorted out, and broken VMTs and crossed out beta textures have been patched or removed. These textures should work perfectly fine out of the box.
To use these, copy them to your mod's materials
folder; if you wanted to use these with retail Half-Life 2, you'd copy them to steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2\materials
. For Garry's Mod, these go in steamapps\common\Garry's Mod\garrysmod\materials
. From there, they'll appear in the copy of Hammer for that game, and they'll appear in-game if used in a map. (If you're distributing a map and not a mod, remember to zip any textures you use before publication, or else other players won't see them.)
